Weekend Update

Sorry, no Seth Myers or Amy Pohler here, by the way without Amy Pohler not sure SNL is even worth HULU. We spent the weekend trying to get everyone in the house healthy again. Connor had to spend all weekend inside except the occasional sneak out to see Maggy - caught him this time. He missed baseball tryouts because he was sick. Chris is coaching so I hope he gives the kid a shot and picks him.

Connor also had to do some homework - just because you don't go to school does not mean you do not still have work to do. He is working on a report about Sugar Gliders which are basically flying bat/squirrels with no footwear. The visual of their nasty little toes are enough to make me sick! Apparently they also like to mark their territory and people have them as pets - nice! Forget it Connor, it is never going to happen! There are lots of things that pee around here, none of them fly. I have to draw the line somewhere.

The big boys spent some time playing Foosball, not sure I get that game. They were having a good time playing. I did get a picture of AJ's thrill of victory but as you can see missed Chris' face experiencing the agony of defeat.

Continuing on our weekend of fun and games, AJ is trying to teach me to play Guitar Hero. I was really not interested until I realized they had Band on the Run - had to do it. I earned $29 for AJ and the band. I felt cool until he played a song and earned $290, way to pull in 10% of what a 13 year old kid makes. If only the real world worked like that AJ would be set.

Big week this week, baseball tryouts for AJ. Hopefully the spleen will not let him down. One of the side effects of mono is an enlarged spleen so it is all he can talk about. He has been fantasizing of being out on the field crying out "MY SPLEEENN!" Dream big AJ!

  2. For those of you that are looking to see that Sugar Glider for yourself (like AJ) here you go. Gives a whole new meaning to Rocky the Flying Squirrel.

  3. A.J. looks totally annoyed with your $29 performance!

  4. Get over it AJ. The spleen is a totally useless, and unneeded organ. Evil Kneival had his removed so that he could do more extreme stunts. His fear was that it would enlarge and burst during one of his stunts. Maybe you should have your's remove before baseball season if you are going to play extreme baseball.
There are only two things more useless than a spleen. One is a flying squirrel with bare feet that looks like a bat. and pees on your head as he passes over.
The last and most useless, and annoying thing is the letters that you have to type in to post a blog on this site for security reasons. Is hosting a blog in the south as dangerous as a boat ride down the river in Deliverance?

  5. I thought sugar gliders were a treat from Little Debbie. Another famous person without a spleen, Mike Shanahan, former coach of the Broncos. The spleen injury ended Mike's quarterback playing at Eastern Illinois University. Another usless fact coming to you from Cliff Claven. I do have to agree that the security letters to post a blog are rather unpredictable, sometimes they work and sometimes not. Baseball try-outs should be O.K. for the boys, after all they both have Bobo's baseball skills.

  6. Oh Bobo!!! Once again a fountain of misinformation. Mike Shanahan did not have to quit playing football because of his spleen. He suffered a ruptured kidney, and had to have it removed. He then proceeded to make millions with one kidney. And that's the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say.
I think Bobo did fix the blog. Hope I don't screw it up again.

  7. Bobo you are too funny a Little Debbie treat? I bet you know all of them by name! Little Debbies are truly a marvel Where else can you get a box of yummy snacks for $.99 or have they went up?

  8. I happen to know that they have gone up to $1.29. Just like everything else. Hey AJ, if Lucas can play with one kidney, I think you can manage with a damaged spleen. It's a great excuse if you don't make it though. "I was having a great tryout until my spleen burst!, It was all downhill after that." Bobo, oh my gosh. More useless trivia. If it weren't for Papa catching your small errors you could write anything and we would believe it. Maybe you should invent the sugar gliders, you could retire on that idea! Doesn't that sound good Papa!!
